El Mundo Restaurant and Relocating a Tree and Tree Well

The owners, Nora and Mike Boyle, were sent an email on August 10th with Tina Ward-Pugh’s suggestion for a neighborhood public meeting as part of the process of relocating the tree and tree well from the front entrance of the restaurant. Nora enthusiastically responded the same day letting us know they were very interested in having the tree and tree well relocated. She informed us they would be leaving for vacation soon and would like to meet later at the end of the month. Two email attempts have been made to schedule a meeting with the owners. No response has been received. Until we hear from them, we are left wondering if the owners still wish to have the tree and tree well relocated and/or if they still want assistance from the Clifton Community Council.

Chicken Steps at the End of Vernon Avenue

Previous: An increase in illegal dumping by the Chicken Steps at the end of Vernon Avenue prompted a letter by Tina Ward-Pugh to the residents of Vernon Avenue. Years earlier, an inspection by Metropolitan Sewer District determined illegal dumping on the hillside caused the sewer pipe to become blocked with debris and caused a backup that took several days for MSD to unblock. Tina wants to organize a neighborhood meeting with Metro Public Works and MSD. LUPC has offered to organize the meeting, and Tina has accepted. No date has been confirmed yet, but the meeting will be held at the church on Vernon Avenue.

Update: Few residents have responded to Tina’s letter about a neighborhood meeting with Metro Public Works and MSD. Because of lack of interest, the neighborhood meeting may not take place.
