Clifton Community Council Annual Membership Meeting Minutes

June 10, 2015

A quorum being present, President John Baker called the Clifton Community Council Membership Meeting to order at 7:15 pm at the Clifton Center.

Board members in attendance: John Baker, David Coyte, Jackie Read, Joey Keck, Reda Logsdon, and Jonathan Musselwhite.

Board members not present: Paul Hohman, Pam Sheehan, Anne Walker, Bill Wright, and Brad Curry.

Membership Business: Elections for 5 of the 11 board positions were held. A quorum being established a ballot in lieu of consensus vote was requested. Each candidate was unopposed for their position. Results were as follows:

Reda Logsdon, 12 votes

Jonathan Musselwhite, 13 votes

Pam Sheehan, 11 votes

Bill Wright, 13 votes

Melanie Dyer, 11 votes

Ballots were counted by Phil Samuel and certified by the Board Secretary, Jonathan Musselwhite.

The meeting was adjourned at 9:00 pm with no objections.

Clifton Community Council Board Minutes

June 9, 2015

 

John Baker called the Clifton Community Council board meeting to order at 6:32PM at the Clifton Center.

Board members present: John Baker, David Coyte, Brad Curry, Reda Logsdon, Jackie Read, Bill Wright.  (Paul Hohman came in at the conclusion of the meeting at 7:16PM)

Others present: Cassandra Cullin, Melanie Dyer

Board members not present: Jonathan Musselwhite, Pam Sheehan, Anne Walker

A motion was made and approved unanimously to approve the minutes from the May 12 meeting.

Treasurer Reda Logsdon gave the Treasurer's Report informing the Council of a current balance of $15,867.29.

Old Business:

Clifton Fest 2015 – Brad Curry reported on financial support for the festival, current sponsors, and the prediction that the seed money from the Council will be fully returned upon the final budget tally.

Melanie Dyer made a call for volunteers and produced a spreadsheet of current vendors plus a diagram of the festival's lay out. The Council will share their tent at Space #16 with “Vendor Check-in” to save space. Joey Keck will set up the booth and volunteer from noon to 3:00pm. Jackie Read has volunteered to staff the table from 6:00 to 10:00 pm, and clean up afterwards.

FABA request on the Easter Parade: Tabled until July 14

June 10 Annual Meeting, 7:00pm at the Clifton Center

Elections: Anne Walker will step down from the board but continue to edit the Newsletter.

Melanie Dyer will run for election.

Motions:

David Coyte made a motion to reserve $75.00 for an NP&BAC mailing. Bill Wright seconded. The motion was passed unanimously.

Expenses:

John Baker requested $120.00 in reimbursement for the Neighborhood Link website which was automatically charged to Katy Elliot. David Coyte approved and Jackie Read seconded. The reimbursement passed unanimously.

It is acknowledged that the fiscal responsibility for www.cliftonlouisville.org must change hands. To be discussed at July 14 board meeting.

The board meeting was concluded at 7:16PM.

May 12, 2015

John Baker called the Clifton Community Council Board meeting to order at 6:30 p.m. at the Clifton Center.

Board members in attendance: John Baker, Bill Wright, Jackie Read, Joey Keck, Reda Logsdon, Brad Curry, and Jonathan Musselwhite.

Others present: Cassandra Culin, Melanie Dyer, Bill Hollander, and Wolfie Miller.

Board members not present: Paul Hohman, Pam Sheehan, Anne Walker, and David Coyte.

Motions:

  1. Joey Keck motioned to approve the minutes of the May board meeting. Brad Curry seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimously.
  2. Brad Curry motioned to appoint Joey Keck as Vice President. Jackie Read seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimously.

The next board meeting will be Tuesday, June 9 at 6:30 p.m. in the Clifton Room of the Clifton Center.

The summer Community meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, June 10, at 7:00 pm in the Community Room of the Clifton Center.

The meeting was adjourned at 7:54 p.m. with no objections.

April 14, 2015

John Baker called the Clifton Community Council Board meeting to order at 6:34 p.m. at the Clifton Center.

Board members in attendance: John Baker, Jim Brauner, Bill Wright, Jackie Read, Joey Keck, Reda Logsdon, and Brad Curry.

Others present: Cassandra Culin, Jonathan Musselwhite, and Melanie Dyer.

Board members not present: Paul Hohman, Pam Sheehan, Anne Walker, David Coyte.

Motions:

  1. Brad Curry made a motion to approve $4500 of funding for the Clifton Summer Festival. Joey Keck seconded. The motion passed, with Jackie Read and Bill Wright abstaining.
  2. Jackie Read made a motion to approve the following expenditures:

$1777.72 for printing of the Clifton Quarterly

$62.99 for Kentucky Secretary of State fees

$524.85 for insurance

$11.92 for Easter candy

Joey Keck seconded. This motion passed unanimously.

  1. Bill Wright made a motion to approve a donation of $100 to David Wicks in support of his documentary about the Beargrass Creek. Jackie Read seconded.
  2. Jackie Read made a motion to approve a letter on behalf of the Clifton Community Council, in support of the Louisville Affordable Housing Trust Fund. Brad Curry seconded. The motion passed unanimously.
  3. Jim Brauner regretfully tendered his resignation from the Board of the Clifton Community Council. Joey Keck moved to appoint Jonathan Musselwhite to the Board, and to the position of Secretary. Jackie Read seconded. The motion passed unanimously.

The next board meeting will be Tuesday, May 12, 6:30 p.m. in the Clifton Room of the Clifton Center.

The summer Community meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, June 10, at 7:00 pm in the Community Room of the Clifton Center.

March 10, 2015

John Baker called the Clifton Community Council Board meeting to order at 6:34 p.m. at the Clifton Center.

Board members in attendance: John Baker, Jim Brauner, Anne Walker, Bill Wright, Jackie Read, Joey Keck, Pam Sheehan, David Coyte, Reda Logsdon, and Brad Curry

Board members not present: Paul Hohman

Motions:

  1. David Coyte made a motion to approve the minutes of the February board meeting. Joey Keck seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimously.
  2. David Coyte made a motion on behalf of the Land Use and Preservation Committee for the council to write a letter to Mayor Fischer, asking him to aggressively enforce the snow removal ordinance. Jackie Read seconded the motion. The motion failed.
  3. Brad Curry made a motion to give $250 to the Frankfort Avenue Business Association, for costs associated with Easter parade security. Pam Sheehan seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimously.
  4. David Coyte made a motion to approve $500 for expenses related to planning and permitting a Clifton neighborhood festival. Joey Keck seconded. The motion passed with two abstentions.

The next board meeting will be Tuesday, April 14, 6:30 p.m. in the Clifton Room of the Clifton Center.

The Spring public meeting is scheduled for April 8, at 7:00 pm in the Community Room of the Clifton Center.

February 10, 2015

John Baker called the Clifton Community Council Board meeting to order at 6:34 p.m. at the Clifton Center.

Board members in attendance: John Baker, Jim Brauner, Brad Curry, Anne Walker, Bill Wright, Jackie Read, Joey Keck, David Coyte, and Reda Logsdon.

Other members present: Cassandra Culin, and Jonathan Musselwhite.

Members absent: Pam Sheehan and Paul Hohman.

Motions:

  1. Joey Keck moved to approve the minutes of the January meeting. Jim Brauner seconded. The motion passed unanimously.
  2. Jim Brauner moved to approve a $300 budget for the Easter Egg Hunt. David Coyte seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimously
  3. David moved to approve expenditures of $10.00 for research and $14.98 for business cards. Bill Wright seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimously.

The next board meeting will be Tuesday, March 10, 6:30 p.m. in the Clifton Room of the Clifton Center.

The Spring public meeting is scheduled for April 8, at 7:00 pm in the Community Room of the Clifton Center.

Clifton Community Council Board Meeting Minutes

January 13, 2015

John Baker called the Clifton Community Council Board meeting to order at 6:33 p.m. at the Clifton Center.

Board members in attendance: John Baker, Jim Brauner, Brad Curry, Anne Walker, Bill Wright, Jackie Read, Joey Keck, Pam Sheehan, Paul Hohman, David Coyte, Reda Logsten, and Jonathan Musselwhite

Motions:

  1. Joey Keck made a motion approve the minutes from the November board meeting. Jackie Read seconded. The motion passed unanimously.
  1. David Coyte made a motion to approve the expense of $170.00 for the Board luncheon retreat at North End Café in December. Pam Sheehan seconded. The motion passed unanimously.

The next board meeting will be Tuesday, February 10, 6:30 p.m. in the Clifton Room at Clifton Center.

The Spring public meeting is scheduled for April 8, at 7:00 pm in the Community Room at the Clifton Center.

The meeting was adjourned at 7:42 p.m. with no objections.
